In this week's issue:
Centaurus, formerly an immortal, has made the greatest sacrifice of
all and become mortal once again. He will spend his mortal days helping
new players and building the vampire clan. We welcome `Penny' back into
mortality. :)
The Brakman
Brakkis, Augurer, Hero, Number One Magykers Clan
Brakkis has been mudding on and off for the past two years and recently
landed in Darkstone via the Mudconnector. He spends most of his days
hanging out in Windy Bluff helping new players and generally being in
the thick of things. As an Augurer, Brakkis has both magical and combat
skills.
Brakkis's Favorite Strategy for Defeating High Level Mobs:
Before fighting ANY mob I try to spell myself up as much as possible,
usually with sanc, fireshield, blass, and basically any armor spell
I have available. Then, if possible, regenerate all my mana so I can
use it for healing, and some offensive spells then, if I'm lucky I might
beat it.
PEACE AT ALL COSTS
The armies have been gathering all around the land. The air has been
filled with tension the past few weeks involving the Four clans. It
all stared several weeks ago with the killing of a vampire clan member
by a Magyker. It was reported to be in self-defense, but the facts are
very muddled. The leader of the Vampire clan, Magus, met with the representatives
from the Magykers and the situation was settled but not forgotten. The
clan leaders are trying to control the scuffles that have erupted concerning
this matter. Peace is the constant message preached by all the leaders.
The surprising rise of the Walkers clan has caused more turmoil. It
is unclear what path they will choose to follow. The Vampire clan feels
alone in their struggle. As the largest clan, and followers of the evil
god, Seluctruh, their motives are always questioned. It appears that
they will once again be on their own. It has been rumored that this
is why they seek peace. It is only through the constant fear that they
will be hunted down once again that they remain at peace with the other
clans.
(This will be a weekly column originating from the thoughts and ideas
of the god, Seluctruh. At times the format will be in-character. At
other times it will be out of character.)
A rash of robberies have cropped up over the past two weeks as new
thieves flood into the land of Darkstone. It is rumored that Peryl,
the God of the Green Flame, and patron of all thieves is gathering his
minions together deep in the sewers of Windy Bluff. Citizens are warned
to keep tight hold on their purses and backpacks.
Watch for new spells and skills in ALL classes as the immortals work
hard to bring balance to the lands of Darkstone. The classes will become
much more realistic and different through this process. For example,
Mages, known for their great magical talents but weak bodies will find
that they can no longer wear the heavy armor of the warrior. They will
be the major spellcasting class with many spells unobtainable by other
classes. While Warriors, renowned for their great physical strength
will not be able to wield magical items held sacred by mages but will
gain new attack and combat skills.

Message from the Big Gods
Remember that the immortals are forbidden to interfere or intervene
in the lives of the mortals. That means that they can't cast spells
on you, give you equipment or items, or transfer you out of sticky situations.
So please don't ask them to do these things.
