In this week's issue:
Akhenatonh is the latest hero to arrive in the lands of Darkstone.
Seemly appearing out of no where, Akhenatonh roamed the realm many moons
ago and only recently found his way back and into the hero challenge.
He is welcomed with open arms by Magus and Centaurus, bringing the total
number of vampire clan heroes to three. He joins Relentless and Villani
from the Darkstone Clan and Lacar and Brakkis from the Magykers Clan.
Villani, Druid, Hero, Leader of the Darkstone Clan
Villani came to mudding through the back door. As a software documentation
writer she worked on help files and dabbled in other muds. Then one
day she read a terrific review of Darkstone in the Mud Journal. Deciding
to check us out she discovered exactly what the reviewer had: FRIENDLY
PEOPLE. Now she is the Leader of the Darkstone Clan and spends many
hours helping players enjoy and experience the full extent of the game.
When asked what her favorite area is, she replied:
I love riddles, so Varin, Lake Tilbar, The River Ki, they are all
places I love. The secret of Harmony took me forever to learn when I
was a lower level, and I still think Morgaz is the most beautiful zone
in the realm.
Gnome tower FRUSTRATES me, and I have yet to solve all the riddles
of that dratted place, and the secrets of Pardor Pass cost me many deaths,
but lots of fun in the end. I am looking forward to learning more about
Kettin once I learn dwarvish, and for now, my favorite thing to do,
is to just keep exploring in the hopes I will solve all the puzzles
of the realm. DS is great because new areas keep being added and old
ones keep being expanded. So as long as there is something I haven't
solved, I am happy.

Did you know....
Seluctruh, Tarin, and Ydnat all met on the same mud a few years ago.
My character's name there was Mead, Tarin was Kett I believe, and Ydnat's
was Matthew if I'm not mistaken. Tarin and I decided there was certain
things we liked about the muds we played and certain things we disliked.
It was at this point we decided to make a mud based upon ideas we thought
were needed in a mud. We talked some over ICQ and emails a bit and came
up with what would soon turn out to be the game we all now call Legends
of the Darkstone.
It was tough at first because we did not have a reliable coder. One
coder actually deleted the whole mud one night when he was rumored to
be in a drunken state. There was no current backups, either. We probably
lost about a months of work in that devastating event. Since then we
have been much more careful about who we give shell access to of course.
After much begging, Ydnat finally accepted our offer to come and code
for us full-time.
