Welcome Two New Heroes

New Darkstone Arena a Big Hit With Players

Thanks to the hard work of Ydnat the arena is up and running. Now Darkstone players have a place to duel other players and mobs (even immortals) without fear of losing experience, being looted or sustaining damage to equipment.

There is a new arena channel that announces when an immortal decides to open the arena. If you're busy and don't want to be spammed, type channel -arena. Otherwise enjoy bulletins about your friends and enemies hurling themselves into the fray, fleeing in panic, or plain old dying.

If you decide to test your mettle, type 'arena enter' and *poof* you will be whisked to the entrance of the arena where you best spell yourself up before charging off to battle.

Below are the top 10 strongest players by ranking in the arena. (see here for a more uptodate version --ed)

1) Tilon
2) Brakkis
3) Magus
4) Jevitz

Well there's only four so if you want to get on the list, you'll have to challenge one of those four. For more information type 'help arenarank'.

Notes from Seluctruh's Lair

Many players and immortals contribute their time and effort in ways both inside and outside the game. Those that have gone above and beyond are many and you know who you are. Special thanks to Tatianna for making this newsletter available and in such a professional manner. Also, Thanks to Villani who has offered to do the business cards for us. They will be put in with T-shirts that we sell. This way, players can hand their friends and associates a nice card that has all the information needed to find us on the Internet.

The long awaited T-shirts will be going on sale next week. Please do not spam me with any requests for prior information. All that is needed to know now is that the final graphic is not done yet... some ideas are still being tossed around. - Seluctruh

Profile of the Darkstone Clan

by Villani, Darkstone Clan Leader

Being in any clan has its advantages and all of the clans in the realm are fine clans. However, each clan is distinctive and offers its members something different. Darkstone offers its clan members a sense of family and camaraderie, as well a strong role playing environment.

Although, Darkstone is more rigid than any of the other clans, we still have a lot of fun, and enjoy being the morality police for the realm. We don't allow worshippers of evil to become clan members, and players must pass the clan challenge ( a small quest ) before they are deemed worthy to become a member. Tarin is our Deity, however we have worshippers of Tatianna, Faux and Ydnat in our clan as well. The clan members are equally diverse and we even have a good thief and a good vampire.

Our clan's purpose is to preserve the Light in the realm and should we be called upon by any of the Gods of Light to vanquish evil, we are prepared to do so. But at this time we live in peace. However, anyone who commits acts that are unjust or evil, (particularly killing low level players) may find themselves facing an angry mob of Darkstone clan members seeking retribution or justice.

In addition we offer both clan and individual quests. The quests are designed to encourage exploration of the realms, to teach problem solving, and to prepare members for the Avatar Challenge. The rewards for quest completion differ based on the quest difficulty. Currently, as clan leader, I am trying to amass rare equipment. As each clannie passes his or her individual quests, these pieces of equipment are given to them as a reward.

In addition, Darkstone takes pride in helping new players just arriving in Windy Bluff city, and enjoys having fun xping singly or in groups. The entire clan is sometimes called upon to band together to complete a quest or to defeat a specific enemy, but more often than not they are free to group with whomever they wish and just relax and enjoy the mud.

If you aren't sure if Darkstone is the clan for you, feel free to ask any of us questions, or to group with some of us and join us on our adventures!
