The 13 Days of Evil
An Important Note
An important note is nailed to a tree here. As you begin to read the note, a chill comes over your body... Here is what the note says:
The 13 days of evil are among us!
It is rumored that around this time each year, the Darkstone's evil essence radiates throughout the land. Many believe that the Darkstone exploded years ago, creating everything we know today. The stone consisted of good, evil, and all the alignments in between. Naturally, the evil Lord Seluctruh received his fair share of all the evil that the stone had to possess. The Lord Tarin was blessed with all that was good. The rest of the deities fall somewhere in between. The history is long and complex so I shall go in no further detail of it.
The important part is that I alone know of the fates about to come. For you see, I have seen the stones of time.
On the first day, many mindless vampires will attack windy bluff... the dark powers of the darkstone will possess their being. Only the faithful and devoted vampires will maintain their sanity. It will be a gruesome site as vampire fights vampire.... Even the forces of light will come out in defense of the faithful vampires. For it is known that the vampires loyal to Seluctruh can be trusted. They keep the rogue vampires out of the land. In past times, when a vampire becomes so obsessed with blood lust, they were slain by the ways only known to the vampires. This assured peace in the lands.
Stay dear to your deities in these times of chaotic evil ... stay close to your clans ... as a group you will make it through these trying times.... even the deities stay clear of the chaos that pursues in these days. The deities see this as a test. A test of faith, if you will. Alone you will die a tragic, horrible death. Band together and we shall make it through this together. Brave souls will step forward and help make the lands safe. Brakkis, Tilon, Khren, Avaricus, Jevitz, Jubei, Magus, Alexandria, Kira, and many more will survive what lies ahead. They are the ones who have the faith. You too can be one of the survivors. You two can become a Legend of the Darkstone. The choice is yours!

Within minutes of reading the note you hear people screaming and the bells from Tarin's Temple begin to ring out. A small boy runs past you calling for his mother. A look of sheer panic is on his face. In the distance you hear someone yell out, "Vampires... hundreds of them ... coming this way!"
