Truly a day to remember. While my body heals, my mind pains with confusion.
This day had ripped my faith to pieces, played with my emotions, and
tore at my heart. This strange mist that overtook me...I cringe at the
thought of its origin.
The dreams, the visions...some too evil to speak of...they flooded
my slumber only to be broken through by the seductive whims as a woman.
This very woman, a vampire, appeared before me! Having drempt of this
ver woman many times, I felt faint as I awoke to her kisses of love.
While every twinge of reason told me to run, I stayed to indulge myself...
That's when the pain came...
I howled in agony as I felt a pierce in my neck...this creature begain
sucking my blood, making me weaker with every draw it took. Pushing
her away, I stumbled back, gasping the wound, trying to speak the Dragon
words of healing, but to no avail, my young mind failed me. The vampiress
lunged once again, latching on my neck.
The pain opened my eyes, I begain to see that this creature was not
the one I thought I loved...
I had been practicing a particular spell all day and suddenly the
words came to me...muttering these words I attacked the creature hard
and it withdraw a bit from me. Regaining its composure, it lunged once
again not to bite, but to kill. I cracked my whip in an attempt to frighten
it but it charged just the same, and I grazed its arm with my stiletto.
Striking me hard, I began to feel the warm flow of blood down my body.
What happened next is still fuzzy in my mind...I remember a flash
of blinding light and being lifted away from my fight, healed anew.
I appeared before Lyssa, a fellow kiswoman and dear friend. Dropping
from the sky, the fair goddess Villani also appeared and warned us of
imminent danger. My eyes twitched with fear as I realized I would have
to face the vampiress once again. But, with the help of Lyssa, I felt
invunrable.
Together we sought out a strategically sound area to make our stand.
Guided and blessed by Villani, we prepared ourselves. With an eerie
glow, we saw the approach of the vampiress as she rounded a rock into
view. She had come ready for battle, shrouded in fire and ice.
Immidiately, Lyssa dispeled the magic protection of the vampiress,
only to be attacked by it. I ran to her aid, slashing with my stiletto,
opening a small wound in the creatures shoulder. As I prepared to strike
the beast with my whip, it turned and gazed into my eyes. Horrified,
I lunged off-balance and barely nicked the creature as I fell to my
knees. Disgusted with my error, I gazed up quickly to see Lyssa dealing
the deathblow to the vampire, but only after receiving many nasty wounds
herself.
When it was over, the body of the beast rotted and blew away like
leaves in the wind. Dropping to the ground, Lyssa fought exhustion.
Now that I was calmed, I found the words to heal an begain to work on
her wounds.
I gazed into her blue eyes...I found a wonderful feeling stream through
me as I did so. This woman had saved my life. I now seek to repay her
generous deed.
That night we drank together in the Tinkerer's Inn and shared many
a story. Truly a spectacular time I shall never forget.
After we parted and went our seperate ways, I meditated on teh day's
events. I hated myself for my failure in battle. I practice now three
times as much. I shall not be caught off-guard like that again.
