Treason

The leaders of the Vampire clan are sad to report that Seluctruh gave them some disturbing news before he was cast into the void. A spy has penetrated the ranks of the Vampire clan. Much of the ancient secrets that were kept secret for centuries have been disclosed. The damage is done. It has been written in the Stones of Time that the Vampire clan hall will be burned to the ground because the location has been found. Many vampires will die. Knowing this, Seluctruh gave his orders to the clan leaders and entered the Void. He knew if he did not, he would not be able to control his anger when it all unfolded.

The Vampire clan will no longer take pride in the destinction of being the largest clan in the realm. For centuries the Vampire clan has been one of the most secret organizations in operation. Recently, the leaders began openly reqruiting all who wanted to follow the path of evil. The standards were lowered and as a result the loyalty of some of the members have been in question.

Many of the ancient secrets of not only the clan, but of vampires in general, have been sold to those who would like to see the death of the Vampire clan, and vampires in particular. It is obvious there are spies in the ranks. In the coming weeks, drastic changes will be forth coming.

A complete re-organization will take place within the clan, led by Magus and his newly appointed leaders. Each clan members loyalty will be tested. If they pass they will be given a new oath and we will move on from there. Once they take this oath, they are members for life. If they are outcast for dishonoring the clan, they are still members. As such we have complete power to deal with the matter in our own way. Naturally, since they know our rituals, traditions, and other secretive information, they will have to be killed. There is no exception to this rule. We will respect the decisions of other clans to handle similar situations involving their clans. We will NOT accept outcasted clan members for any reason, and will not interfere in how they deal with their own.

The clan house will be completely changed for security reasons. In regards to respect it will be widely known that no Vampire clan member is to ever enter the sacred halls of another clan. As such, we ask the same respect.

Pride and loyalty will be two key elements in the Vapire clan. Being a part of the clan is regarded as an honor. Those who join for the benefits and protection, without regard for the clan as a whole, will be outcast. Those who abide by our strict standards will continue to enjoy the many benefits they enjoyed before. Those that are proud to call themselves a Vampire clan member and continue to show the loyalty that is expected will feel that sense of Belonging that we all seek. We will all stand together so that we may never have to stand alone.

It is sad that these changes must take place, but we must set standards, rules, and expectations to live up to. It is also sad to report that the spy was the beloved Jubei, one of Seluctruh's most prized students. It is hoped that others will understand that we must track him down and put an end to all the secrets that have been released. His head must be brought to the Vampire clan hall and a ceremony must be done to protect the clan hall from similar situations. So it has been done for centuries. It may be superstition, or it may actually work. Either way, these situations rarely arise.

The Vampire clan aklowledges that their numbers will shrink as a result of these drastic changes. It is understood by the Dark One that he will lose some followers as a result of this act. It seems brutal to those looking in from the outside. However, within days, the Vampire clan house WILL be destroyed as a direct result of the crime committed by Jubei. It is the Dark One's belief that a few dedicated and loyal followers is better that 1000 treacherous ones. Once again, we are reminded of this:
