It
was a burning within him. Xodus stood before the opened earth where he
rested for years past. His grave site was exactly the way he remembered
it, awaking to the sound of Seria's sobs. He could feel her arms around
him, he and she both wanted him to come back. It was midnight, and the
moon was directly above Xodus.
The vampire had been thinking for hours now, ever since sunset. He
had been thinking about the feelings he had experienced in the last
few days since his awakening. What could be happening to me? he thought.
Yet, he did not know the answer, he merely stood there staring into
the darkness of his grave. Xodus's thoughts were halted as something
around him became odd.
Xodus lowered his head, he could feel a presence near him. He concentrated
and his ears quickly became extremely sensitive to all sounds. He could
hear the rustling of leaves, footfalls of animals. He concentrated harder
and heard what he had sensed, the footfalls of a large beast. The sound
its feet made were like rocks. It could of been many things, but it
was most likely a minotaur. It was a few hundred steps away from Xodus's
exact location, and was coming closer. Xodus raised his head and his
hearing returned to normal. Now all he could feel was the tingling that
showed him something was nearing.
After some time, Xodus could feel and hear the creature behind him.
He knew the creature was watching him. His cloak flapped in the wind,
and then he silently jumped high into the air and landed behind the
creature, which as he thought was a minotaur. Apparently, the minotaur
didn't even know Xodus was behind him, he just turned his head in search
for the vampire.

Mihelik had been hunting for awhile now. He kept his footfalls as
light as he could as he stalked through his surroundings. He found nothing,
so continued foreword. His strides were long, so it was only after some
time when he reached an oddity in the terrain. He was standing behind
a tree and some bushes, and he knelt down as far as he could. Fortunately
for Mihelik, he was able to hide his massive frame behind the large
foliage. He peeked before him, and could barely make out an outline
in the darkness. It was in the shape of a cloak. It didn't even look
like anything was wearing it, just a cloak flapping in the wind.
Mihelik noticed a hole in the ground near the dark figure, and was
wondering what could of been happening before he arrived. He diverted
his attention back to the figure, only to loose sight of it. It's cloak
flapped once more, then was gone. Mihelik had no idea where it could
have gone. It was silent, the only thing he could hear was the occasional
gust of wind and the rustling of leaves.
After searching for a few moments, Mihelik stood to his feet and turned
around. He froze. Standing in front of him was a young looking katrin.
Its fur was black, void black. It stood there with its arms crossed
staring up at Mihelik. Mihelik stood about two heads taller than the
katrin. They stared at each other for a few moments, the vampire's silver
eyes were like two moons in the black sky. It wasn't hard for Mihelik
to figure that one good hit to this katrin would take it out.
"Leave, or I will kill you," said the vampire in a voice that eerily
matched its appearance. Mihelik nodded and turned to leave, but then
snapped back around and threw a punch. The vampire could have prepared
a dining set in the time it took Miheliks massive arm to extend even
close enough to make contact. But, before Mihelik's fast punch made
it to the creature's face, the vampire exploded into motion. The vampire's
spiked gauntlet smashed into Mihelik's fist, and the vampire could feel
the minotaur's thick bones cracking. Without even allowing another moment
to go by, the vampire ducked under the minotaur's arm and dug its spiked
gauntlet into his ribcage, instantly snapping two ribs and creating
a large gaping wound.
Mihelik stumbled back and hit the tree, then fell onto the ground.
The pain was excruciating, and Mihelik lurched foreword and vomited.
The vampire was standing before Mihelik now, and he knelt down to the
gasping minotaur. The vampire grasped Mihelik's armor with his right
hand and stood, lifting Mihelik up enough to put them face to face.
Aethentus was pressed against Mihelik's muscular neck.
"I told you to leave," said the vampire. The muscles in the vampire's
right arm tensed as it prepared to sink the shard deep into Mihelik's
throat. But then, before the vampire could do anything, it looked at
the minotaur's face, then felt something it had never felt before. Mercy,
it wanted to give mercy to the minotaur. The vampire's expression became
extremely and utterly horrible as it was became angrier and angrier.
The vampire let out a grunt of disgust as he lifted his right arm and
threw the minotaur back against the tree. Mihelik lurched foreword again
and bloody vomit poured forth from his mouth. Everything became black
for Mihelik as he went unconscious and was to be haunted by the vampire's
ghastly image.

Xodus sheathed Aethenuts then dissolved into a thin mist and dissipated
into nothingness. A shroud of mist coalesced in the Vampire clan hall
and formed Xodus. He walked into his office, closed the iron door, and
stared at the stone wall.
"Why, why did I let him go!?" Xodus yelled to no one as he slammed
a fist into the wall, sending a massive crack up and down it's height.
Xodus thought back to the moment he was one with the immortal Barset.
He remembered his heart pumping as the immortal blood flowed through
his veins. Xodus looked down at his hand and realized that it was the
blood of this divine immortal that caused these changes.
"There is no blood existent that can fight the blood of the Dark Lord.
I have to fight it. I will fight it." Xodus opened his door and walked
down the dark corridor.
